THE DAY BEFORE SOBRIETY
By Robert Kaplan
It's always The Day Before Sobriety
It's always the day before I can be free
I'm swallowing my tears disappearing ten years
It's always The Day Before Sobriety
My life is erased the icy glass is spinning
What happened to that feeling the glow of my beginning?
I'm sure there's no problem, ceaselessly a fear
Blacked out faded dancing, colored in my ear
Eyes return windshield wipers dots of water
Drip, dizzy ladies chattering, thoughts begin to flip
My purpose lost in alibis, wishful thinkingly
It's always The Day Before Sobriety
