BOTTLES IN THE STORE
By Robert Kaplan
I'm in the store (supermarket) looking for some soap
And the isle with all the bottles is in view
So wonderful the colors, and all the different sizes and shapes
And beautiful drawings, pictures, and designs
It's symbolic of all I dream of all I can be
Some kind of wonderful feeling beyond the dull world of shopping for
soap
A world where i feel whole
A world which I belong to
A world where I am loved
The symbols of what I want are beautiful to be admired
without breaking the seals
As I stroll down the isle the beautiful symbols of my freedom bring
me joy
Because I leave the bottles whole, symbols of my whole self
I'm making progress to belong, I'm loving so I can love
My fear of bottles in the store is gone
When I see them only as beautiful symbols
I am free
